Interesting thing. I bought the Konica/Minolta A1 shortly after it arrived at my local dealer. I love the camera.
But, after only about three weeks, I was at the dealer again. Sitting in the space where the A1 had been was the shiny new A2, and no A1 in sight! THREE WEEKS! And, since the A2 is only U$100 more than the A1 was, I was a little annoyed. I mean, if I'd known the A2 was coming so soon on the heels of the A1, I'd've waited.
As it is, I still love the A1. It meets or exceeds all my needs. So, I'm not upgrading, either....
yes, the same happened with the Canon D30/D60/D10 range. I'm sometimes annoyed that Nikon takes a long time to get new and updated models. But on the other side, my Coolpix 5700 is still operating fine and an upgrade to a 8700 won't give me much benefit. It definately won't change the photographer!
