Is this the point-and-shoot I’m looking for? This little camera has almost everything I’m looking for. It only misses three little features; 1) no Nikon badge, 2) its not available in black and most important 3) it has no easy exposure compensation button. That last think is something I use quite a lot on my Nikon Coolpix 5700. Together with spot metering its the most used feature that I use. The FinePix F10 is small but has excelent image quality due to the Super CCD
HR sensor. The resolution is more then adequate with 6.x mpix and 3x optical zoom (36-108) should be fine — although not really wide angle. You probably use both ends of the zoom most of the times — and to be honest — zoom is never enough. On the pro side it has a nice f2.8 lens and an ISO range from 80 to 1600! Usability might be a bit less then I’m used to. The camera is quite small and it has no dials. On the other hand, turning it on within a second, a 500 shots battery and a large 2.5 inch LCD display make it probably fun to use.

"...as it is I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a small, fast, capable camera, ...".
But that's on dpreview about the Canon Digital IXUS 50. hmm?
Nah, I would not go for it Janco. As you mentioned, the versatile Nikon badge is missing, which makes the little thing nearly useless! ;-)
