Like you said: nice article! And yes... I think it realy makes sense, even you think about colour composition of multiple pixels.
For me there are still some disadvantages in digital, which no one should refrain from the DSLRS however: the screen, the beamer, and the print even more, are limiting the digital era still. Things will change, and they do. Rapidly!
(And no full frame, anti shake, dust resistant, live preview, Nikon mount DSLR at amateur prices yet...)
