Why no Apple 22" touchscreen iMac!?

January 19, 2010 | Comments (0)

I cannot believe Apple releasing an iMac with touch screen. A touch screen might be nice for a shop information system without keyboard but it has no use for day to day work. Within a few hours your arms can’t be used because of strain. Now I’ve used the iPhone multitouch I think I would like to have my next computer with a keyboard and a large ten finger touch system as Clayton Miller from 10/GUI has demoed. I agree that not always the best system wins but I can’t think of Apple releasing old technology as a standard computer with a touch screen.

Over a quarter-century ago, Xerox introduced the modern graphical user interface paradigm we today take for granted.

That it has endured is a testament to the genius of its design. But the industry is now at a crossroads: New technologies promise higher-bandwidth interaction, but have yet to find a truly viable implementation.

10/GUI aims to bridge this gap by rethinking the desktop to leverage technology in an intuitive and powerful way.
