How to draw the attention of users.

Not that I’m an expert in search engines, I even don’t now much about them but from my statistics I definately see that having the right content matters! Last saturday I added the rumour of the Nikon D2H being released. Since then I started to draw attention of the search engines. I got now 56% of my hits come from searchengines and 44% from links from expernal pages. For the sake of comparison I forget about the direct addresses, which are probably mostly caused by myselves. Some statistics:

Keywords used:
nikon and d2h are top with 46 and 44 percent
Search engines used:
Google and Yahoo with 90 and 10 percent
. Hey, I’m not talking about anything big here, I’m just talking about 31 hits; but its a trend…

How did I do it? Well, I just registered the site with google some time ago. After not seeing and spiders coming around a read the registration again and saw that they also used dmoz.org. So I registered myselves also there. Not anything special, no special registration tools (which collect your e-mail and spam you to death afterwards).
