Netscape R.I.P.

July 16, 2003 | Comments (0)

AOL laid of 50 netscape developers according to Daniel Glazman’s Glazblog. So will Netscape 7.1 be the last version of the browser? So will de Mozilla development slow down? Has the anouncement of the mozilla foundation something to do with this? Strange as Mitchell Baker said: \We’re grateful for the past and ongoing support of America Online, and we look forward to continuing to work with AOL over coming years\. According to the money that AOL spend on the Mozilla Foundation, $2 million for the next two year in cash, equipment and domain names, I think there bringing down their investments this way for the future by not having their own development team.
