Do you name your hardware? I do!

Veerle wonders if you give your hardrive a name. Well actually I haven’t done that for years now. I tend to use the MS-DOS Label program to give the disk a name. I now only give all my computers a name (as you have to). My business desktops and laptops tend to have a name related to Science Fiction. So we had — as far as I can remember — idaho (dune), amidala, r2d2 and c3po (starwars). My home computers and routers all are named to places in Italy. I’m actually writing know on PoggiBonsi…

I named my Powerbook 'Freya'. A Mac needs to have a girls name.

Machines at our house:

Athlon750 (a really inspired name for the XP box)
Gateway (a really inspired name for The Girlfriend's Gateway PC)
Powerboo (an almost inspired name for my Powerbook G3 Wallstreet)
Driod 1 and Droid 2 (my two Mac G3 All-in-one computers, because they look like the boxy androids on Star Wars).
